What is a chakra?
Chakras are powerful spiritual energy points along our bodies.
Each chakras corresponds to specific nerve bundles and organs in your body. When one or more of your chakras becomes blocked or unbalanced, it's thought to have an impact on your physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional health. When Chakras are balanced, they allow our bodies to run at optimal levels, bring peace to our lives and energy can run through them freely - bringing harmony between the physical body, mind, and spirit.

There are 7 main Chakras and we have a candle to help balance each of them.
Each chakra is a specific colour and corresponds to a specific area of your body and mind.
They can be activated and/or balanced by using certain crystals and scents that work with that particular chakra.
The 7 main chakras
Swadhisthana
Swadhisthana (sacral chakra) helps inform how we relate to our emotions and the emotions of others. It also governs creativity and sexual energy. Those with a blocked sacral chakra could feel a lack of control in their lives.
Location on the body: 2 inches below the naval

Purpose: Creativity, Sexuality, Desires
Muladhara
Muladhara (the root chakra) represents our foundation and gives us the feeling of being grounded. When the root chakra is open, we feel confident in our ability to withstand challenges and stand on our own two feet. When it's blocked, we feel threatened, as if we're standing on unstable ground.
Location on the body: Base of the spine

Purpose: Grounding, Security, Manifesting
Manipura
Manipura (the solar plexus chakra) speaks to your ability to trust in yourself and in others to have your best interest at heart. If your solar plexus chakra is blocked, you might feel overwhelming amounts of shame and self-doubt.
Location on the body: 2 inches above the naval

Purpose: Trust, Will, Confidence
Anahata
Anahata (the heart chakra) can influence your ability to give and receive love. If someone's heart chakra is open, they can experience deep compassion and empathy. Someone with a blocked heart chakra will have difficulty fully opening up to people in their life and may feel a deep sense of loneliness.
Location on the body: Center of the chest

Purpose: Love, Emotions, Relationships
Vishuddha
Vishuddha (throat chakra) controls our ability to communicate our inner truth. When it's functioning at full capacity, it allows us to express ourselves truly and clearly. Someone with a blocked throat chakra may have trouble expressing how they truly feel and may freeze during confrontational moments which can result in feelings of anger and resentment.

Purpose: Communication, Honesty, Expression
Anja
Anja (third-eye chakra) allows us to connect to our intuition. It is the eye of the soul. If the third eye chakra is open, your physical senses start to heighten and enable you to receive knowledge and information from the higher consciousness and other dimensions of consciousness. If the third eye chakra is blocked or underactive, it can negatively affect your ability to concentrate and process information. It can often cause you to be fearful of the unknown.
Location on the body: Middle of the forehead

The scent to help balance this chakra is: Lavender

Purpose: Awareness, Intuition, Imagination
Sahasrara
Sahasrara (crown chakra) represents our ability to be fully connected spiritually. When the crown chakra is open, you're able to access a higher consciousness and have a deep spiritual connection to a higher power. A closed crown chakra can result in feelings of aimlessness, cynicism, apathy, self-destructive tendencies and a strong attachment to material possessions.
Location on the body: Top of the head
